Angela Alsobrooks, born in 1971, became Maryland’s junior U.S. Senator in 2025, making history as the state’s first Black female senator.

Prior to being elected to the Senate in 2024, she served as Prince George’s County Executive (2018–2024) and as the county’s State’s Attorney (2010–2018).
