David McCormick, born in 1965, is currently serving as the junior U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania, having assumed office on January 3, 2025.
Prior to his Senate tenure, he served as the CEO of Bridgewater Associates and held senior positions in the U.S. Department of the Treasury under President George W. Bush.
A West Point graduate and Gulf War veteran, McCormick’s legislative priorities focus on national security, economic growth, and foreign policy. In the Senate, McCormick serves on several committees, including, the Foreign Relations Committee, – where he serves as the Chair of the Subcommittee on Near East, South Asia, Central Asia, and Counterterrorism – the Armed Services Committee, and the Finance Committee.

McCormick has publicly opposed the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement. He condemned a proposed anti-Israel ballot measure in Pittsburgh, aligning with other Pennsylvania political leaders in denouncing the initiative.
In 2025, McCormick co-sponsored the Antisemitism Awareness Act (S.558), which directs the Department of Education to consider the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s (IHRA) definition of antisemitism when investigating discrimination complaints.
Senator McCormick supports continued U.S. security assistance to Israel. He has emphasized the strategic importance of Israel as a key ally in the Middle East and has pledged to ensure that aid is not withheld or delayed.
